The redesigned Tender Care balm packaging brings new life to Oriflame’s most iconic product. The redesign tackles three key problems: a narrow opening that made access difficult (especially for users with long nails), leftover product trapped in unreachable negative space, and a visual language that felt more utilitarian than premium.
By eliminating wasteful space and rethinking ergonomics, the new Tender Care brings intuitive functionality to a beloved everyday product - without losing its iconic charm.
The Tender Care redesign began with user research that highlighted key frustrations; difficulty accessing the balm, product waste, and a lack of visual appeal. Using these insights, I explored multiple concepts through rapid sketching, refining the most promising ideas into clear, presentable directions. I then translated these into detailed sketches and used 3D printing to test size, usability, and interaction.
This iterative, hands-on approach led to a design that improves functionality, comfort, and hygiene, all while preserving the familiar character of this iconic product.
